Best Blazer Length with Jeans

One of my favourite Make It Look Easy formulas is that shorter blazers tend to enjoy the company of skirts and dresses, while longer blazers generally work with all silhouette lines.

Why?

Because a shorter blazer allows you to see more of the skirt, creating a lovely balance of a more streamlined silhouette.

Now, before anyone emails me back, this is Nat's science, not the fashion police's rules.

If you want to wear a short blazer with jeans, go right ahead. I promise a piano will not fall from the sky and land on your head.

These formulas simply make getting dressed easier because they help create proportional balance and harmony without having to think too hard about it.

And as you know, I'm all about making style look easy.

Long Blazers are best with Jeans and Pants.

This way, we concentrate on the long outer frame without focusing on the inner leg finish line.

Short Blazers are best with Skirts and Dresses.

There is no break in the inner leg line with skirts so, move along, there's nothing to see here.

The Golden Rule For Blazer Lengths

When the jeans get slimmer... Your blazer needs to go longer.

As a pear body shape, I don't actually own any skinny jeans (I only do tapered jeans when I'm going tighter), so, for this demonstration above, I've enlisted the help of my trusty cartoon friend.

Watch my video below, as I explain this simple formula some more.
