Colours For You And Your Colour Personality

I used to feel completely lost and overwhelmed by my wardrobe.

I remember thinking, "If only I knew more about colours that go together and how to make my clothes actually work with each other!"

I was stuck in that frustrating cycle of wanting something new just to feel good for a day, an evening, or a special event. I was so bored with what I had that I assumed if I wore something from my own wardrobe, others would think I was boring, too. Eek!

I threw so much money at quick fixes for single occasions, when I could have invested in fabrics, colours, and styles that would last a lifetime—pieces that would mix and match effortlessly, not just with my skin colour and personality, but with everything I already owned.

Why didn’t I see it sooner?

I’d already own my dream Chanel handbag by now instead of dropping tonnes of clothes off at the op shop that I had only worn once (if even at all!) for so many years.

Shoes that don’t fit are never a bargain, no matter the price. And adding more clothes to my wardrobe just to have more options only led to overwhelm—and the guilt of wasted money.

But hey, I'm grateful we’re here now. Once you know better, you do better, right?

Since you’ve been here for a while, I’m guessing you have a pretty good idea of which of the four colour types suits you best - Hair, Vibrant, Creative or Eyes.

That’s why I want to ensure you’re making the best colour choices for your wardrobe, perfectly aligned with your colour type and personality this season.

With that in mind, here are my tips on which of these 3 key Spring colours you should focus on depending on your colour type and colour personality.

Soft blue

soft blue goes with

Soft blue is an amazing colour for Eyes, Hair and Vibrant. This colour pairs back so well with the items in your wardrobe.

I have to say that this colour gives off a vibe more towards a medium contrast with a dip down to the low contrast which always equals a strong creative personality, and then a romantic personality.

If you sit with either of these - this is your colour. It's a double down for me as I was naturally born romantic personality but have developed a creative personality through life experiences. This is what I would choose for me if I had to pick just one.

Pastel pink

Pastel Pink is for Eyes, Hair and Vibrant.

This colour gives off a vibe of low to high contrast which equals a strong Romantic to Theatrical personality.

If you sit within either of these - this is your colour.

It's a second in line for me as I am a Hair Romantic colour personality first with Creative colour personality as my secondary.

I'm not theatrical at all in my personality (used to be for a little bit of time but it never really stuck).

Lemon yellow

Lemon yellow/Butter Yellow is for Hair and Vibrant.

This colour is a medium contrast colour.

Dark haired hairs will love it! and Vibrants... well, Vibrants get the choice of all contrasts.

As a low contrast Hair colour type - this colour would be my last pick of the 3 but I'd still choose it (and it does suit me) if my budget allowed beyond and after the other two colour choices.

I hope this helps you decipher which "on trend" colour will truly live forever in your heart, your home, and within your unique style personality.

Yes, there really is a science to this stuff.
