Necklace Know-How: Nailing It Like a Boss

Finding a top where the neckline is both the perfect shape for your face shape and lands at your ideal face length (like the white V-neck in the first photo) is rare—but when you do, it’s a dream come true.

In these cases, you don’t need to do anything to balance or correct the neckline.

You’re free to accessorise still with a ribcage-length necklace or earrings but just remember earrings should not fall longer than your face length (no lower than your chin).

Now, if your top has a neckline that sits higher toward your chin, it can create a visual disconnect between your head and body. To fix this, you’ll need to “cut out” the neckline—think of it like cutting a slice of pie from your top.

This is where necklaces come in. The necklace doesn’t have to be a bold statement piece (though, Vibrants, you can go all out as that’s your style).

Even a subtle piece can make a huge difference in balancing your proportions and creating harmony in your outfit.

Choose a necklace that forms a "V" shape, like a pendant or layered chain, to visually elongate your neck and balance the high neckline.

This helps break up the space between your chin and chest, creating a flattering proportion.

It’s a simple tweak that works wonders.

When your neckline sits significantly lower than your face length, add a necklace at your second balance point to fill the gap and restore harmony to your head-to-body proportions.

What About Long Necklaces?

No worries, I’ve got you covered!

The key to wearing long necklaces is keeping them well above your waistline.

Aim for the most prominent or solid part of the necklace to fall at your ribcage, just below your bust.

This placement draws the eye upward and creates the illusion of a more balanced body proportion with an hourglass effect.

Can you wear long necklaces with a collar? Absolutely!

Just remember to keep the necklace inside the collar, resting against your skin, rather than letting it sit over the fabric.

This ensures a polished and intentional look that complements you and your silhouette seamlessly.
