Arms In, Legs Out And Arms Out, Legs In

One of my very favourite style hacks is this: arms in, legs out… and arms out, legs in.

This is why I love long sleeve shirts in Spring, Summer and Autumn.

It’s simple, but it works every single time.

Here’s why: our eye is always drawn to contrast and to the areas of skin we choose to reveal.

When you cover one area (say, your arms in long sleeves) and show another (bare legs), you create balance.

The fabric acts as a backdrop while the skin becomes the feature.

The reverse also works beautifully, sleeveless or short sleeves with your legs covered.

Again, it’s that play between exposure and coverage that keeps the look chic and intentional, never overdone.

Think of it as giving the eye one clear invitation.

Too much on display can feel confusing or less polished, but when you choose your highlight, arms or legs, the rest of your outfit supports it with shape, colour, and fabric.

It’s such a small shift, but once you start dressing with this in mind, you’ll notice your outfits instantly look more put together.
