I always recommend building your handbag essentials around a light, a dark, a colour, and a print.

That way, you’ve got something for every mood and occasion.

Just ensure that none of your handbags are the same tone as your shoes.  

Notice above how my light handbag has a cool tone, while my light tan sandals are warm.

My warm, dark patent tan handbag isn’t only a different tone from my cool dark taupe boots, but the shiny finish on my bag creates an extra layer of interest.

It’s a small detail, but it makes a big difference to how polished and effortless the overall look feels.
