How To Choose The Right Colour When Wearing It With A Print

How do you use your Brilliant colour combinations e book (aka coco) when trying to pair a solid-coloured item with your print item?

Firstly, you can identify all the colours within the print and cross reference their Coco pages to find a solid colour common to all.

This is an easy task if your print only has 3 colours like mine, sage green, green grey and soft peach.

Opting for only 2 or 3 colours in a print is a smart strategy to eliminate overwhelm and make styling more manageable.

It strikes the perfect balance of simplicity and colour theory, allowing you to effortlessly coordinate your outfits without feeling inundated by too many hues.

Dark taupe also goes with crisp white (my boots) and light grey (my bag).

Remember to be mindful that any solid colour chosen shouldn't already be within the print, as that would be matchy matchy.

The idea is to enhance the colour, not repeat it.

My solid coloured light taupe top below loves navy, it also loves navy and white print (my pants are navy and light grey check but still fit the illusion of navy and white print) and then I bring in my black shoe as navy loves black.

Building an entire outfit using colour theory is not just enjoyable; it's a massive time-saver and a reliable antidote to second-guessing.

It streamlines the process, leaving you with more time to enjoy your day and less time pondering wardrobe choices.

Avoiding colour repetition in your outfit <<< (worth reading), allows each item to stand alone as a distinct element to be appreciated and enjoyed.

It enhances the visual interest and uniqueness of each piece, creating a harmonious yet attention-grabbing ensemble.

My recommendation for colours to collect in your prints as you begin your most worn collection: Skin colour, Eye colour, Best colour, Best Light neutral and Best Dark neutral.

Resist the temptation to go overboard collecting every colour, as it will disrupt the effortless flow of your wardrobe.

Selecting a cohesive palette ensures that your outfits effortlessly complement each other, making your fashion choices more streamlined and sophisticated.

Quality over quantity is the key!
