How To Pack For Greece

How to pack for Greece:

1. Think in Outfits, Not Items
Don’t throw in random tops and dresses. Pack pieces that mix and match into multiple looks. A 7x7 grid approach (7 tops + 7 bottoms = endless combos) makes it effortless.

2. Pack a Colour Story
Choose one palette (neutrals in a light, dark, colour and a print). This way, everything works together and you’re not standing in front of the suitcase thinking, “Nothing goes.”

With just the 4 tops and 4 skirts above, I have 14 outfits.

3. Fabrics Do the Heavy Lifting
Linen, cotton, and floaty viscose will be your best friends. They’re breathable in the Greek sun and still look chic after a day of wandering cobblestones.

4. Shoes: Less is More
You only need four pairs: 2 stylish flat sandals for day, one pair in black/darkest brown and one in white (or a light orange tan if you are wearing long dark skirts or pants), a comfy trainer for exploring, and a dressier black/dark brown sandal for evenings. Show a bit of skin at the top of the foot with long skirts or pants to keep proportions flattering.

5. Accessories are Your Secret Weapon
Scarves, jewellery, and a wide-brimmed hat instantly change the vibe of an outfit, and they take up no space in your luggage. They’ll give you that Greek-island goddess glow without overpacking. If your wide brim hat is in your hair colour, it will give a casual look, go the opposite if wanting to look more glam.

If your wide-brim hat matches your hair colour, it blends in for a relaxed, casual vibe. Choose a contrasting colour instead if you want your look to feel more polished and glam. Same colour as your hair = casual chic. Opposite colour = glam bam, thank you ma’am!

A printed headscarf that ties back to the colour story of your top is a chic way to protect your hairline from the sun while looking effortlessly put-together (use your coco).

Here’s your quick “Boss-approved” guide to packing for Greece:

Outfits, not orphans: 7 tops + 7 bottoms = endless combos
Colour story: best personal neutrals in LDCP
Cool fabrics only: linen, cotton, viscose
Shoes: 2 flat sandals + 1 comfy trainer + 1 evening sandal
Accessories: lightweight jewellery, head scarves, wide-brim hat, sunglasses

Keep it light, keep it coordinated, and you’ll never have a “nothing to wear” moment on holiday.

Leaving somewhere chilly like Adelaide for the golden warmth of Greece means your travel outfit has to work double-duty.

Think layered to leave, light to arrive.

A cosy yet lightweight cardigan is a must as it’ll keep you snug on the plane and then slip neatly into your tote when you land.

Add a printed cotton scarf (I like to use my skin colour) for extra warmth on departure that doubles as a chic sarong over your bathers once you’re island-side.

If you’ve built up a little collection over the years, pack three pairs of sunnies to cover every mood: a light pair that blends with your hair for a soft, casual look (or vice versa); a dark pair that contrasts your hair for instant glam; and a bold coloured pair (I’m taking burgundy), as I don't normally wear burgundy clothes in summer so I won't be repeating colours elsewhere.

Fly with a large tote and tuck a smaller handbag inside in the same colour.

When you land, swap them over so your outfit vibe stays perfectly polished, while your tote (now holding your cardigan and scarf) slips easily into your suitcase.

Greece Packing Checklist:

Travel Outfit Must-Haves (Adelaide → Greece):

  • Light cardigan – warm for departure, folds neatly into your tote on arrival.

  • Cotton scarf – cosy for take-off, doubles as a sarong over bathers.

  • Layer smart – dress for cold to warm, so you’re comfy at both ends.

  • Tote + handbag combo – fly with a large tote and tuck a smaller handbag inside in the same colour. On arrival, swap them over so your outfit vibe stays the same, while your tote (now holding your cardigan and scarf) slips easily into your suitcase.

Clothing & Outfits:

  • Think in outfits, not items – 7 tops + 7 bottoms = endless combos.

  • Fabrics that breathe – linen, cotton, viscose for cool, chic comfort.

  • One colour story –  so everything mixes & matches.

Shoes:

  • 2 Flat sandals – One light, one dark, for daytime and casual dinners.

  • Comfy trainer – for exploring cobblestones in style.

  • Dark Dressier sandal – for sunset drinks and evening glamour.

Accessories & Extras:

  • Sunnies trio – Three pairs for maximum style mileage

    • Light pair (blends with hair for casual style).

    • Dark pair (contrasts with hair for instant glam).

    • Coloured pair (fun pop you don’t usually wear).

  • Printed headscarves – ties back to your Coco-approved outfit colours, protects your hairline, and doubles as a chic styling piece.

  • Wide-brim hat – match your hair for relaxed, casual vibes, or go contrast for glam holiday photos.

  • Jewellery – small, versatile pieces that elevate without taking space.

  • Lightweight extras – scarf, sarong, or wrap for layering.

That’s it, you’re packed and ready! You’ve now got every little detail you need to feel comfortable, stylish, and totally at ease while you’re away.

The best part? No last-minute stress, no “I wish I’d packed that” moments, just you, feeling like the most effortless version of yourself.

Now it’s time to zip that suitcase, pop on a smile, and go soak up every drop of Greece.

Safe travels, gorgeous and don’t forget, the best accessory you’ll wear is how relaxed and confident you feel.
