When Seeing The Undertones Of Colour Becomes Second Nature...

A teacher is one who makes himself progressively unnecessary
— Thomas Carruthers

Last week Travis and I (aka Hunky Hubby) headed off into the City to colour check a couple of items for the Boss Babes (members of my style program).

*(Trav is also dressed using the Boss framework. Don't you just love how the shoes contrast his trousers?).

We were on a mission to clearly define the exact colour to use in my Brilliant colour combinations ebook for a couple of items (after I suggested them in my latest weekly Boss program trend report ).

Once we arrived, I thought I would play a game (to see if he had been paying attention over the years) and ask him what colour he thought they were?

The label of the garment said khaki so he went straight to the greens page of my e-book on his phone and laid the item on top.

And with my mouth wide open as I stood there in shock (along with immense joy) he said "Nope, it's not a green, it's more of a dirtier neutral".

I then proceeded to flip through his phone to the dirtier neutrals page.

"That's it" he yelled, "that one! the stone colour only is a little darker but it is definitely part of that Family’s undertone".

And guess what? He was spot on.

So now we were able to head back to advise the Boss Babes to use the stone page in my Brilliant Colour combinations ebook (aka Coco) for this item.

That means that only one of the four colour types should consider this item as it will never work comfortably or easily in the other 3 colours types wardrobe.

Crisis adverted!

Money saved (for those it won't work for) and a clear plan for (millions) of outfits for those it will.

And a big proud Wife moment that my Husband has learned to see colour (even though he can't see clear signals of when I would like to be taken out to dinner).

Okay, Okay... he does know when to take me out for cocktails. I'll give him that.
